Job Description Mission Technologies, a division of Huntington Ingalls Industries, is searching for a qualified candidate to fill the role of Range Operations Lead located at Stumpy Point NC, in support of the Navy Dare Bombing Range. Responsible for the overall work quality, efficiency and productivity of the Navy Dare Bombing Range Team. Works closely with Contract Site Manager and Government Range Systems Manager. Ensures mission situational awareness is maintained to provide safe range operations. Facilitates aviation ordnance delivery with aircrews using two-way radio equipment. Observes ordnance drops, obtaining and recording scoring information via local Mission Support Forms (MSF) (excel spreadsheet) and entry of data into Target and Range Information Management System (TRIMS) prior to 0900 of the next business day. Provides support for other facilitators in a range safety observer capacity. Oversees communication with aircrews during missions to provide information pertinent to successful mission completion including but not limited to WISS scores, range status, equipment status and environmental conditions. Coordinates with FACSFAC VACAPES for daily, weekly and monthly training schedules to identify mission requirements, develop training, disseminate critical range information, resolve scheduling conflicts, solve daily user problems and resolve any issues within special use air space, ground training areas and ordnance authorization. Updates MSF for all missions, range movement and equipment outages as necessary. Oversees assistance for aircraft and ship emergencies when directed by competent government authority. Supervises operation and assistance with the Range scoring systems, Mobile Land Target (MLT), Laser/threat systems, and any other range equipment that may aid military users in proficiency, scoring and enhancement of training requirements. Performs all other position related duties as assigned or requested by the Contract Site Manager. Minimum Qualifications 6 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field OR 4 years relevant experience with Masters in related field OR High School Diploma or equivalent and 10 years relevant experience. Secret Clearance Required Formal training in the field of air traffic management, flight operations, or equivalent. Three years’ experience as a supervisor/lead in aircrew training range environment. Preferred Requirements Ability to speak, read, and write English Must possess a valid state Driver’s License Must maintain current CPR/First Aid certification Physical Requirements Minimal mobility, dexterity, or coordination required to operate common business machines. Maximum lifting required is approximately 40 pounds from floor to three feet in height. Range Operations – Air Traffic Control environment; range located in an isolated area in eastern North Carolina. Occasional lifting to 50 pounds, constant sitting while using the computer terminal, constant use of sight abilities while reviewing documents, constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication, constant mental alertness, must possess planning/organizing skills, and must be able to work under deadlines.
